NetApp complies with the legal framework that the governments of the United States, European Union and United Kingdom have recently established, including all sanctions and regulations that are applicable to our business. Effective September 8, 2022, as a direct result of the actions these governments took in response to the invasion of Ukraine, NetApp has made the decision to discontinue business operations in Russia, Belarus, and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine. Europe is an important market for NetApp, and we will continue to work carefully to assess and respond to any updates across the region as the situation evolves.

NetApp, as a global company with employees, partners, and customers across multiple geographies, stands by the principles of peaceful conflict resolution and that the protection of human rights are non-negotiable. We are deeply concerned about the safety and security of the international community and our thoughts of care, support, and compassion are with all those impacted during this troubling time. NetApp is also closely monitoring reports of cyberattacks connected with this situation and will update cybersecurity countermeasures as new threats emerge.

NetApp will continue to update this advisory as additional information becomes available and will provide answers to common questions below. This advisory should be considered the single source of current, up-to-date, authorized, and accurate information from NetApp regarding this situation.

  1. How does this decision affect entities that are based in Russia, Belarus, and the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine and own assets within those countries/locations?  

    NetApp is obligated to comply with the 2022 United States and European Union sanctions imposed on Russia, Belarus, and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine. NetApp has terminated service and support to assets owned by entities in these countries/locations. Customers and Partners can submit any questions here.

  2. How does this decision affect entities that are based in Russia, Belarus, and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine and own assets outside of those countries/locations?

    NetApp is obligated to comply with the 2022 United States and European Union sanctions imposed on Russia, Belarus, and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine. NetApp has terminated service and support to assets located in countries subject to sanctions. Customers and Partners can submit any questions here.

  4. In the case of a multinational company with assets in multiple countries, will NetApp continue to support assets located outside of Russia, Belarus, and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine?

    A multinational company, not impacted by sanctions or related restrictions may still receive support on entitled assets located in countries and regions not impacted by sanctions.  Additionally, companies not impacted by sanctions or related measures may continue to have access to NetApp Support Site so long as their support agreements are paid and active.
