Our commitment to ESG

A renewed vision for sustainability

We continue to integrate ESG into our overall business strategy. To better focus our efforts, in 2022 we worked with a third-party expert to conduct an extensive materiality assessment in order to identify our top ESG priorities for the coming years. Our systematic, data-driven approach to the analysis of internal and external stakeholder perspectives produced a revised and more evenly balanced inventory of concerns to address. Priority issues include energy management; greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; product design and lifecycle; data privacy and security; diversity, inclusion and belonging; employee health and safety; and supply chain management.

Sustainable Innovations

Environmental issues – including energy management and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – are of the highest priority to our stakeholders. We recognize the impact that data storage has on our environment; as data increases, so does the energy needed to manage it and its subsequent carbon footprint. Together with our customers and suppliers, we can make changes today that reduce our collective environmental impact.

Embracing a culture of diversity requires that we create opportunities for inclusion, diversity, and belonging (DI&B) every day. The culture of inclusion at NetApp fosters a strong community that’s empowered to innovate. Our social impact programs enable us to be actively involved in creating a world where all people and communities are able to thrive.
